Grettir the Strong was outlawed at the age of 25, and he spent nearly 20 more years on the run in the harsh landscape of Viking-age Iceland. At the end, Grettir lived on the remote island of Drangey. Here, half dead and unable to stand due to the magic of an evil sorceress, Grettir, aided by his brother Illugi, made his last stand: 2 against 20.

Hurstwic brings the fight to life on the screen in this film, shot on the location of the historic battle, adjacent to the ruins of Grettir's Viking-age home. The film uses realistic weapons, fight moves, clothing, and houses, even to the point of using 1000 year old historical Viking jewelry and weapons for some of the players. To provide context to the battle, we have interviewed experts who help explain the battle and introduce you to the society and the people of saga-age Iceland.

The film will be available on DVD and on streaming services in the spring of 2017.

The running time of the film is about one hour, and it is in English, with portions in Icelandic with English subtitles.

The DVD release will include a second disc with an additional 2 hours of bonus material.
